Despite the COVID-19 restrictions, Cypriot casinos reported a total bet of $ 161 million in just a month and a half.

Cyprus casinos, which are operated by Melco Cyprus, have also announced that this amount applies only to slot machine bets.

In particular, for the second quarter of the year ended June 30, 2021, the total number of bets recorded on slot machines amounted to 137.1 million euros, compared to 48.7 million euros in the same period last year.

The profit margin on slot machines was 4.9% in the second quarter of 2021, up from 5.2% in the second quarter of 2020.

Cyprus Casinos currently employs about 700 employees in four additional casinos and a temporary casino in Limassol, with an additional 2,500 employees coming to work following the $ 550 million City of Dreams Mediterranean opening in late 2022.
