Experts raise the topic of gambling addiction problems

British scientists draw public attention to the hardships of gambling addiction. Gambling addiction, in their words, is a global and not a private problem.

Dr. Heather Wardle, commissioned by the Responsible Gambling Strategy Board (RGSB), came to this conclusion as part of a study to analyze the harm of gambling. RGSB is an independent consultant to the British Gambling Commission.

The report opens a new perspective on the assessment of the social problems that gambling entails. The Director General of the British Commission, Neil Arthur, says that the only way to neutralize the harmful effects of gambling is by establishing a framework for suppression. To this end, he calls for the assistance of industry representatives, academics, public health and the public itself.

The report highlighted a list of the main factors that should be taken into account when assessing the consequences of the harmful effects of gambling. This includes domestic crimes, suicide attempts, job losses, and bankruptcy.

Neil Arthur also clarifies that the results of the study will still be finalized.
