Legislators’ consideration of this bill was removed from the agenda by decision of the head of the Georgian parliament, Irakli Kobakhidze, said Georgian MP Levan Gogichaishvili.
“The discussion of the bill banning various advertising of gambling in Georgia was removed from the agenda by the head of the Georgian parliament, Irakli Kobakhidze, despite the fact that this bill had already passed all parliamentary committees. Such a bill should be submitted for consideration only by our government, but I myself will initiate it if the government does not do it in the near future. From year to year, the government either suspends all those acts concerning the gambling market in Georgia, or does not submit them for consideration at all, ”MP Levan Gogichaishvili said.
According to him, another legislative act was also submitted for discussion by the government, which dealt with raising the age from which local residents could already participate in gambling. Georgian legislators want to raise this age to 25 years, although now in Georgia it is possible to play games for money upon reaching 21 years of age.
