In Oryol, members of the organized criminal group are being tried for organizing a network of underground casinos

In the city of Oryol, a trial began over ten members of an organized criminal group (OCG), who organized a network of underground gambling establishments for money gambling, which had been functioning for about two years. This is reported by the edition.
Eight men and two women were reportedly taken to the dock. The organizer of the illegal business, according to the investigation, is a man named Cherkasov. Also, four more men are active participants in the criminal group. The rest of the defendants worked in underground casinos that were opened in 2014 in several districts of Orel, as well as in the settlements of Livny and Mtsensk.
It was possible to suppress the illegal activities of the organized criminal group only at the beginning of 2017, when operational police officers, disguised as clients, entered underground casinos and made test purchases. After that, court-sanctioned searches were carried out in all gambling establishments, during which law enforcement officers found and seized a large amount of gambling equipment, including gaming machines and computers with special software for playing games for money. They also seized large amounts of money in cash obtained illegally. All the defendants do not admit their guilt.
