Japanese opposition opposes casino legalization

In Japan, the ruling coalition expects that a law on the introduction of integrated resorts will be passed in the coming weeks. But the opposition group again opposes the legalization of casinos in Japan.

Yutaro Kikuchi, who is the head of the local federation of bar associations, said Japanese law could threaten the country’s foundations of order. “The proposed law that lifts the ban on casinos overlooks why gambling was still a punishable criminal offense. This significantly impairs the integrity of the law and order, ”it was reported.

The opposition also reports on the problem of gambling addiction, the organized crime associated with it, and money laundering. It is also reported that most of the country’s public opposed such a draft law.

For a couple of days, the bill was discussed in the lower house of the Japanese parliament.
