Lithuania takes measures to protect minors from gambling

The Lithuanian Seimas passed by a majority vote the amendments to the gambling legislation, thanks to which all advertisements for online casinos and games for money will be removed from websites targeting persons under the age of 18. This is reported by the edition balticvoice.ru.
Reportedly, these amendments to the Latvian gambling law were supported by 86 legislators, six more abstained, and two deputies voted against. These legislative acts will come into force on November 1 this year.
The law covers websites where more than 80% of the content is targeted at teens and children. Also, on November 1, 2019, persons under the age of 18 will be prohibited from visiting gambling establishments. And people who cannot verify their identity will be prohibited from placing bets and visiting establishments with slot machines.
