Online poker operator Partypoker, part of the gambling group GVC Holdings, recently celebrated its return to the Italian online poker market after a four-year hiatus. The popular brand announced last week that it has received a license to provide online poker services in Italy and that its Italian website has re-launched.
According to Partypoker’s statement, the company’s Italian license came into effect on April 1, 2020 and that players were able to start playing online poker on the same day. It is also noted that shortly after launching in Italy, the company plans to present some of its globally popular tournament titles to fans of Italian online poker. The operator plans to release a full tournament schedule for its Italian players in the near future. Apart from online poker, Partypoker is also authorized to offer online casino style games in Italy.
Commenting on the return to the Italian gaming market, Partypoker Managing Director Tom Waters said that despite recent legislative changes that significantly restrict marketing in Italy, the poker market remains an excellent opportunity for his company given the continued growth in poker traffic.
