Will it be impossible to play in a casino in Goa in 2019?

Starting in 2019, residents of Goa will no longer be able to play in casinos. The information was provided by the Chief Minister of Goa – Manohar Parrikar. By that time, a new commissioner for the gambling regulator will take over his post.

The new rules are already in the process of government approval, and their final set will be promulgated by early autumn. Moreover, it is known that tourists in Goa will also be able to gamble: the law applies only to locals.

The minister also clarifies that offshore casino cruises running on the Mandovi River can be transferred to land.

If the authorities manage to resolve the issue of the location of offshore casinos by the end of the year, licenses will be issued to the relevant operators.
